The short version

Hints Box has no accounts. The tools run entirely in your browser and what you type into them is not sent to us.

What stays on your device

Some tools save your work in your browser's local storage so it is still there when you return, for example your reordered list in the NEET PG choice tool. You can clear it with the tool's own buttons or by clearing site data in your browser. We cannot see it.

What we store

If you send a tool request, we store its text, the optional name and contact you typed, whether you agreed to be credited by name, and a timestamp in Google Firebase (Firestore) so we can decide what to build. Please do not put sensitive information in a request. To have a request deleted, contact us via hello@hintsbox.app.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google). Like any web host, it may keep standard server logs such as IP address and browser type for security and operations. We do not use analytics or tracking scripts on this site.

Search

Search runs in your browser. The first time you search, your browser downloads a small language model (about 2 MB) and caches it. Your queries are not sent anywhere.

Advertising

We may show ads to keep the site free. Ads are not enabled at the time of writing. If they are enabled later, we will ask for your consent before loading any ad scripts. Ad providers such as Google may then use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, and you can decline. You can also manage ad personalisation in your Google account's ad settings.

Children

Hints Box is aimed at students and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
